Paulerspury

Hello, John Mayo born 1809 (I think) in Paulerspury was my GG Grandfather. He married a Sarah ?. I am looking for any information on John, especially his parents and also his wife Sarah.

Hi Roy,

I’ve just seen your post (albeit from two years ago!). John Mayo (bn 1809) was also my GG Grandfather. He moved to Blockley in Worcestershire (now Gloucestershire) where he worked as Coachman to George Rushout, the 3rd Baron Northwick at Northwick House. He married Sarah Drury on 21/07/1836 in Mickleton. Sarah was born at Weston Subedge in 1816. John and Sarah had at least 10 children. Their daughter Katherine Frederica Mayo, bn 30/12/1856, was my Great Grandmother (my father’s mother’s mother).

I don’t yet have details of John Mayo’s parents but would be happy to share what else I know if there’s some way we can get in touch.

Hello Paul,

My line comes down from John's daughter Elizabeth (born sep 1848, Blockley) who married a Edwin Baldwin, they were my great grandparents. I had never managed to find out John's wife Sarah's maiden name so I thank for that. I will have a look at the website you mention for more details.

According to what I have Katherine Frederica married a Charles Lloyd but that is as much as I have. By the way, Elizabeth and Edwin Baldwin named one of their Daughters Frederica.

I did see something not long ago which suggested that another of John's daughters Sophia went to America and married a Thomas Cliff Marson - have you come across this?
