Parkers, Buckinghams, and Goodmans 2008/03/02 17:39 Karma: 0
Hi,

I have many letters from 1822 to 1847, written by some of my ancestors, mostly to their son in Birmingham.

Their names were Daniel and Mary Parker, and their children William [later founded the Birmingham engineering company 'Parker Winder and Achurch'], John who died as a young man, Jane who married Joseph Buckingham and founded the Independant church, and Elizabeth who married John Goodman. Daniel and Mary were grocers shopkeepers in Paulerspury, sometimes called 'Pury' by Mary in her letters, and they died in 1833 and 45 respectivley. Some of the letters are on the site and mention many locals of the time including Thomas Lepper, Edward and John and Betsey Grimsdick, Mr Manning, Stimson, and Henry Smithson. If anyone has any details or info for me please reply via this noticeboard.
